Orthodontic treatment with aligners

Modern dentistry offers an innovative solution for teeth correction — clear aligner treatment. These are transparent, nearly invisible trays that gradually move the teeth into their ideal position.

The most popular system is Invisalign, recognized worldwide as an effective and comfortable alternative to traditional braces.

What are aligners and how do they work?

Aligners are made of transparent, biocompatible material and are individually tailored for each patient. They apply gentle, constant pressure to move the teeth gradually and painlessly. Each set is worn for 1–2 weeks, then replaced with the next one until the perfect alignment is achieved.

What are the advantages of aligners?

  • Almost invisible – discreet and aesthetic
  • Less discomfort – gentler forces than braces
  • Removable – take them out for eating or brushing
  • Easy hygiene – no food restrictions, simple cleaning
  • Fewer checkups – ideal for busy patients or those abroad

How is the treatment performed?

Step 1: Initial scanning and digital plan

Treatment begins with intraoral scanning (using an iTero scanner), along with photos and X-rays. The digital plan allows the patient to see the expected final result before treatment even begins.

Step 2: Placement of aligners

After plan approval, custom aligners are fabricated. Small attachments are bonded to specific teeth to facilitate movement. Aligners are worn 20–22 hours per day, removed only for eating and cleaning.

Step 3: Monitoring and control

Check-ups are usually scheduled every 7–8 weeks. For patients living abroad, remote monitoring is available for added convenience.

How to care for your aligners properly?

Good hygiene is key to treatment success. Aligners should be removed before meals and cleaned each time before reinsertion. Use a special cleaning solution or a soft brush with lukewarm water. Avoid hot water, which can deform the trays. The storage case should also be cleaned regularly.
