What you should do to start an orthodontic treatment ?
1.Initial consultation
Detailed examination, anamnesis and discussion of treatment options. At this step, the orthodontist makes a comprehensive assessment of the general physiological and mental development, examines breathing and movements of the lower jaw. The patient's wishes are discussed and a general assessment of the need for orthodontic treatment is made.
2.Diagnostics
X-rays, photographs and digital 3D scanning with iTero. Impressions are taken from both jaws for orthodontic models, panoramic and profile teleradiography are performed. Photo documentation includes extraoral and intraoral photographs for profile, lip and facial symmetry analysis.
3.Treatment Plan
A personalized plan with 3D simulation of the final result. Based on all analyses, an individual plan is prepared for the case, including detailed diagnostic results and possible treatment options. The plan is a diagram of the entire process with a description of the necessary devices, duration, stages and subsequent retention.
4.Braces Installation
Professional bonding of braces or obtaining aligners. With braces, the teeth are cleaned perfectly, an etching gel is applied and the braces are fixed with a special adhesive. With Invisalign, a series of splints are made that gradually move the teeth step by step towards the final position.
5.Regular Checkups
Monthly checkups and adjustments for optimal progress. With braces, adjustments are made every 4-6 weeks with new wires and elastics to gradually move the teeth. With Invisalign, checkups are every 6-8 weeks to monitor progress and receive new aligners from the series.
6. Completion and retention
Removal of the braces and placement of retainers to maintain the result. After achieving the desired results, the braces are painlessly removed and retainers are placed - removable or fixed. The retention period can last several years or remain permanent, depending on the case.
